  The subject of this article is moczka – one of the most characteristic and oldest Silesian Christmas Eve dishes, dating back to the 2nd half of the 19th century. Treated as an exquisite dessert, it is usually served at the end of the Christmas Eve supper. The analysis is based on materials obtained during field research conducted between 2019 and 2021 in Upper Silesia, in two provinces: Opole and Silesia. The author discusses the geographical range of the dish, its names and ingredients, as well as consumption in various age groups, and new customary practices influencing its contemporary perception. In its numerous versions, moczka is a part of the interesting culinary heritage of Silesia.;
  Przedmiotem artykułu jest moczka – jedna z charakterystycznych i najstarszych śląskich potraw wigilijnych, której tradycja spożywania sięga drugiej połowy XIX w. Traktowana jako wykwintny deser, podawana jest zazwyczaj na końcu uroczystej kolacji wigilijnej. Podstawą analizy są materiały pozyskane w trakcie badań terenowych prowadzonych w latach 2019–2021 na Górnym Śląsku, w dwóch województwach: śląskim i opolskim. Autorka omawia zasięg występowania dania, funkcjonujące nazwy, produkty wchodzące w jej skład, a także konsumpcję w różnych grupach wiekowych oraz nowe praktyki zwyczajowe mające wpływ na jej współczesny odbiór. Moczka stanowi interesujący przykład dziedzictwa kulinarnego Śląska.
