  The aim of the research was to present and evaluate the milk market in the Wielkopolska region against the background of the country in the years 2004–2020. In the study the production, stock, purchase, prices and consumption of milk in Wielkopolska region and Poland were analyzed. The analyses were based on data from the Central Statistical Office and the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – PIB in Warsaw. The article uses descriptive analysis supported by tabular and graphical presentation of data. Based on the study it was shown that after the integration of Poland with the EU, the production in Wielkopolska region increased by 73%, while the stock decreased by 0.61%. This trend is in line with the situation on the national milk market. The changes taking place on the milk market in the Wielkopolska region and in Poland are due to the concentration of dairy cows and the elimination from the market of farms with small-scale milk production.;
  Celem badań było przedstawienie i ocena rynku mleka w województwie wielkopolskim na tle kraju w latach 2004–2020. W pracy analizie poddano produkcję, pogłowie, skup, ceny oraz konsumpcję mleka w województwie wielkopolskim i Polsce. Analizy rozpatrywano w oparciu o dane Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego oraz Instytutu Ekonomiki Rolnictwa i Gospodarki Żywnościowej – PIB w Warszawie. W artykule wykorzystano analizę opisową wspartą tabelaryczną i graficzną prezentacją danych. W oparciu o przeprowadzone badania wykazano, że po integracji Polski z Unią Europejską produkcja w województwie wielkopolskim wzrosła o 73%, podczas gdy pogłowie zmniejszyło się o 0,61%. Tendencja ta jest adekwatna do sytuacji na krajowym rynku mleka. Zmiany zachodzące na rynku mleka w województwie wielkopolskim oraz w Polsce spowodowane są koncentracją chowu krów mlecznych oraz eliminacją z rynku gospodarstw o małej skali produkcji mleka.
