  The comparison of competitiveness in the regional dimension has intensified especially during Poland’s membership in the European Union, local communities have their interests also in scientific research. The aim of the article is to search for selected issues in the theory and methodology of regional research on competitiveness and the assessment of the competitiveness of dairy farms in Poland in a regional perspective, with particular analysis of Wielkopolska farms. The assessment of the competitiveness of farms specializing in milk production was made in the time range from 2002 to 2018 based on the collected data of the Central Statistical Office and on the basis of data collected by the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Milk Producers. The conducted research was aimed at searching for the competitive position of Greater Poland dairy farms in terms of milk production compared to Poland.;
  Znaczenie konkurencyjności w wymiarze regionalnym nasiliło się szczególnie w okresie członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej, co znajduje odbicie także w badaniach naukowych. Celem artykułu jest przeprowadzenie dyskusji na temat wybranych zagadnień teorii i metodologii regionalnych badań dotyczących konkurencyjności oraz ocena konkurencyjności gospodarstw mlecznych w Polsce w ujęciu regionalnym ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wielkopolskich gospodarstw rolnych. Oceny konkurencyjności gospodarstw specjalizujących się w produkcji mleka dokonano w zakresie czasowym od 2002 do 2018 r. w oparciu o dane GUS oraz na podstawie danych zebranych przez Polską Federację Hodowców Bydła i Producentów Mleka. Badania miały na celu określenie pozycji konkurencyjnej wielkopolskich gospodarstw mlecznych pod względem produkcji mleka na tle Polski.
