  Being concentrated mostly on sociological and political topics, the German-Greek philosopher Panajotis Kondylis has not established a theory of aesthetics of its own. However, the aesthetical motivation of decision taking is an important part of his concepts concerning the human action as well as of his own choice to take a position in the intellectual field. According to his view, the matter of taste is the ultimate reason to accept or reject value-related (i.e. ethical or metaphysical) opinions. An analysis of Kondylis’ study on descriptive decisionism, Macht und Entscheidung (Power and Decision) shows that the influence of the aesthetic aspect may reach even deeper, to the level of ‘naked’ (i.e. purely power-oriented) decision. The paper examines also the role of taste factor in Kondylis’ own image-building and in the reception of his views, especially in the domain of political thought. In this context, tradition and consequences of considering politics primarily under the aspects of originality and greatness are discussed.;
  Tematem artykułu jest relacja obu tytułowych obszarów – zarówno w dziele filozofa, jak i na płaszczyźnie jego recepcji. Sam Kondylis podkreślał rolę gustu w procesie podejmowania decyzji o charakterze światopoglądowym, nie definiując jednak ściśle ani samego pojęcia, ani zakresu jego oddziaływania. Wiele jednak wskazuje na to, że sympatia i antypatia są istotnymi czynnikami elementarnego rozróżnienia między przyjacielem a wrogiem. Z kolei oparta na tym rozróżnieniu konstrukcja ontosocjologiczna także może być przedmiotem oceny estetycznej, urzekając potencjalnych odbiorców oryginalnością i rzucając wyzwanie utartym nawykom politycznego myślenia. Idąc tym tropem, autor artykułu próbuje umiejscowić styl odbioru dzieła Kondylisa w niemieckiej tradycji literacko-filozoficznej.
