  The article discusses advertisements in Polish popular novels in the second half of the nineteenth-century. Owing to the large number of research materials, the text refers only to the selected issues pertaining to the raised problems. According to the thesis stated in the article, the arrival of advertisements in books was one of the factors which enabled to consider particular texts popular. Types of advertisements in a text are also essential in terms of the reconstruction of their addressees’ image. The article analyses the formal aspect of chosen advertisements included in popular novels.;
  Tematem artykułu są reklamy w polskich powieściach popularnych drugiej połowy XIX wieku. Ze względu na dużą liczbę materiału badawczego tekst dotyczy jedynie wybranych zagadnień, związanych z poruszoną problematyką. Zostaje postawiona teza, że to właśnie pojawienie się reklam w przestrzeni książki jest jednym z czynników, pozwalających zakwalifikować dany tekst jako tekst popularny. Typy reklam w danym tekście to także trop do rekonstrukcji wizerunku odbiorcy. Na wybranych przykładach pojawiające się w polskich powieściach popularnych reklamy są zanalizowane pod względem formalnym.
