  The article discusses the following criteria of the interpretation of the Apocalypse (Book of Revelation): 1) The Apocalypse is being born in the liturgical context and is given to a community gathered together for  liturgy, which is celebrating the risen Christ; 2) The Apocalypse does not provide information, but shapes the mentality of the community through meditating on the Old Testament writings in the Christological key; 3) The Apocalypse belongs the genre of apocalyptic, whose natural means of communication is symbolism; 4) When interpreting the Apocalypse one must take into consideration the entire context (Sitz im Leben), in which the community lives.;
  Na tle przedstawionego Sitz im Leben można pokusić się o stwierdzenie, że Ap jest niczym innym jak ewangeliczną proklamacją dotyczącą historii. Przesłanie całej księgi jest jasne: Bóg jest Panem historii. On wszedł w nią nieodwracalnie przez swojego Syna, Jezusa Chrystusa, w którym podarował światu zbawienie. Jezus jest przedstawiony w Ap jako zwycięzca70. Zwycięstwo Chrystusa, które dokonało się w Jego misterium paschalnym jest definitywne, chociaż jego skutków do końca jeszcze nie widać. Ono osiągnie swój finał w batalii końcowej Jezusa przeciw siłom zła (19,11–20,5). Chrześcijanie zwyciężają wspomniany wyżej system tylko i wyłącznie dzięki mocy, która płynie z misterium paschalnego Jezusa (por. 7,14; 12,11). Czytając Ap, należy o tym przesłaniu pamiętać.Cztery kryteria służące do właściwej interpretacji Księgi Apokalipsy na pewno nie są jedynymi. Wydaje się jednak, że ich uwzględnienie może przyczynić się do głębszego zrozumienia tej księgi i do coraz bardziej odważnego do niej sięgania.
