  It is the intention of the presented text to perpetuate Józef Półturzycki’s contribution to the development of Polish adult education. With a view to capturing the originality of this work, it was presented against the background of adult education textbooks by other authors, among others by Irena Drozdowicz-Jurgielewicz, Maria Borowiecka, and Franciszek Urbańczyk. The source basis for the study is the biographical information collected in the course of an archival query of the personal files of the above-mentioned persons and the analysis of the content of adult education textbooks prepared by them. All authors, including Józef Półturzycki, were teachers of adults in their youth, so they had extensive practical experience in the area to which they devoted their textbooks. In preparing them, they also carefully studied Polish and foreign literature on adult education. Thanks to this methodological procedure, the textbooks they have written faithfully reflect the achievements of national and foreign reflection in the field of adult education.;
  Intencją zaprezentowanego tekstu jest utrwalenie wkładu Józefa Półturzyckiego w rozwój polskiej dydaktyki dorosłych. Z myślą o uchwyceniu oryginalności tego dorobku ukazano go na tle podręczników dydaktyki dorosłych innych autorów: Ireny Drozdowicz-Jurgielewiczowej, Marii Borowieckiej, Franciszka Urbańczyka. Podstawę źródłową opracowania stanowią informacje biograficzne zebrane w toku kwerendy archiwalnej akt osobowych wymienionych osób oraz analizy treści opracowanych przez nich podręczników dydaktyki dorosłych.Wszyscy autorzy, w tym także Józef Półturzycki, byli w młodości nauczycielami dorosłych, mieli więc w obszarze, któremu poświęcili swoje podręczniki, duże doświadczenie praktyczne. Przygotowując je, przestudiowali też uważnie polską i zagraniczną literaturę na temat kształcenia dorosłych. Dzięki temu zabiegowi metodologicznemu napisane przez nich podręczniki wiernie odzwierciedlają współczesne im osiągnięcia refleksji krajowej i zagranicznej w obszarze kształcenia dorosłych.
