W jaki sposób autorzy podręczników Cesarstwa Rosyjskiego opisywali relacje polsko-rosyjskie? Czy traktowali je jako przejaw odwiecznej rywalizacji dwóch organizmów państwowo-narodowych, czy też patrzyli na nie w sposób bardziej przychylny? A być może w Cesarstwie Rosyjskim nie istniał jeden spójny kanon? Poniższy artykuł stanowi próbę znalezienia odpowiedzi na tak postawione pytanie badawcze w oparciu o szeroko zakrojoną kwerendę źródłową.
