The paper was written on the occasion of the ninetieth anniversary of Professor Andrzej Bogusławski’s birthday, the seventieth anniversary of his employment at the Warsaw University as well as the publication of his first papers. The author presents scholar’s Curriculum Vitae and his outstanding achievements in the theory and philosophy of language, the history and methodology of linguistics. Moreover, the author justifies the thesis that Andrzej Bogusławski is the founder of the Polish linguistic school in the field of semantics methodology.Andrzej Bogusławski (born 1931, in Warsaw) studied Slavonic philology at the University of Warsaw and in 1953 obtained his M.A. Since 1951, he has been employed at the University of Warsaw, since 1972 at the Department of Formal Linguistics; as a student he worked as a deputy assistant. In 1960, he obtained his PhD degree and in 1966 he was awarded the title of habilitated doctor. In 1977, he became an associate professor and in 1989 a full professor. He had lectures as a visiting professor at the German universities in Regensburg, Tübingen and München. Professor Bogusławski is the author of nearly 500 publications which include more than 20 books. He is Doctor Honoris Causa of the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg (1999) and the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (2012). Professor Bogusławski is a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Arts (2004), a full member of Warsaw Scientific Society (1983) and an honorary member of the Polish Linguistic Society.;
Artykuł powstał z okazji dziewięćdziesiątej rocznicy urodzin Profesora Andrzeja Bogusławskiego oraz siedemdziesiątej rocznicy jego zatrudnienia na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim i opublikowania pierwszych artykułów. Autor przedstawia curriculum vitae uczonego i jego wybitne osiągnięcia w teorii i filozofii języka, historii i metodologii językoznawstwa. Autor uzasadnia również tezę, że Andrzej Bogusławski jest twórcą polskiej szkoły językoznawczej w zakresie metodologii semantyki.Andrzej Bogusławski (ur. 1931, w Warszawie) studiował filologię słowiańską na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim, uzyskując tytuł magistra w 1953 roku. W 1951 roku został zatrudniony jako zastępca asystenta na UW, gdzie pracuje nadal; od 1972 roku w Katedrze Lingwistyki Formalnej. Stopień doktora uzyskał w 1960 roku, a doktora habilitowanego w 1966 roku. W 1977 roku został profesorem nadzwyczajnym, a w 1989 profesorem zwyczajnym. Trzykrotnie pracował jako profesor gościnny na uniwersytetach niemieckich, w Regensburgu, Tybindze i Monachium. Prof. Bogusławski jest autorem około 500 publikacji, w tym ponad 20 książek. Jest doktorem honoris causa Uniwersytetu Karola Ossietzky’ego w Oldenburgu (1999) oraz Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu (2012). Jest członkiem czynnym Polskiej Akademii Umiejętności, członkiem zwyczajnym Towarzystwa Naukowego Warszawskiego i członkiem honorowym Polskiego Towarzystwa Językoznawczego.
