  Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie pracy tłumaczy pracujących dla instytucji Unii Europejskiej. Zostało w nim zaprezentowane środowisko pracy tłumaczy konferencyjnych oraz osób tłumaczących dokumenty i materiały prasowe, z uwzględnieniem wyzwań, jakie stawia przed nimi wielojęzyczność UE (24 oficjalne języki). Artykuł obejmuje także opis ścieżki kariery tłumacza w UE.
