  The article aims to present directions of development of sustainable solutions in urban transport. Currently, the biggest problem in the area of urban transport is the imbalance in environmental and social aspects. First, the concept of urban transport has been defined. Then the characteristics and problems of urban transport has been described. In the main part of the article the author presents the most significant solutions that contribute to improving the quality of life of urban residents by reducing the negative impact of transport on their health and the environment.;
  W artykule wskazano możliwe kierunki rozwoju zrównoważonych rozwiązań w transporcie miejskim. Ich zidentyfikowanie i wdrożenie może przyczynić się do polepszenia jakości życia w mieście poprzez ograniczenie negatywnego wpływu transportu na środowisko naturalne i zdrowie ludzi. W opracowaniu podjęto także próbę uściślenia definicji zrównoważonego transportu miejskiego oraz operacjonalizacji tego pojęcia. Osiągnięcie celu pracy wymagało analizy zagadnień z obszarów, takich jak: zarządzanie, logistyka, rozwój zrównoważony, ekologia oraz prawo. Takie podejście pozwoliło autorowi skoncentrować się w głównej mierze na rozwiązaniach pozwalających na trwałą i długookresową poprawę funkcjonowania miast.
