Description:
The article deals with the protection of whistleblowers guaranteed by Directive 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of whistleblowers. The current legal position of the whistleblower, the risks associated with whistleblowing, above all the lack of protection against retaliation by the employer, are presented. The main objectives, purpose, personal and material scope of the Directive were analysed. In addition, the legal solutions that were implemented by the Law of 14 June 2024 on the protection of whistleblowers are characterised.
