  The paper focuses on two basic issues, which occur in the writings of St. Augustine and refer to the matter of existence and free will. The aim of this paper is to present the main threads that are characteristic for Augustine’s concept of freedom. Firstly, a description of ontological aspect of free will will be provided; the question of free will as an existential attribute of every human being. Secondly, the issue of human freedom understood as his inner autonomy will also be presented.;
  Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje dwa zasadnicze problemy obecne w pismach św. Augustyna, którymi są istnienie i wolna wola. Po pierwsze, zostanie ukazana charakterystyka wymiaru ontologicznego wolnej woli, jakim jest rozumienie wolnej woli jako istotowego atrybutu każdego ludzkiego bytu. Po drugie, zaprezentowane zostanie zagadnienie ludzkiej wolności rozumiane jako wewnętrzna autonomia.
