  The author’s aim was to characterise digital editions of old maps. In the article, this notion is defined as “digital, critical representation of a cartographic document.” Editor’s work include the preparation of a map scan, its georeferencing, development of a spatial database, webGIS application and editorial commentary. High development opportunities for digital editing of cartographic sources were also indicated in the text.;
  Celem autora było scharakteryzowanie cyfrowych edycji map dawnych. Pojęcie to zostało zdefiniowane w artykule jako „cyfrowa reprezentacja krytyczna zabytku kartograficznego”. Do zabiegów edycyjnych należą przygotowanie skanu mapy i jej kalibracja, a także opracowanie bazy danych przestrzennych, aplikacji webGIS oraz komentarza edytorskiego. W tekście wskazano także na duże możliwości rozwoju edytorstwa cyfrowego źródeł kartograficznych.
