  The Educational Value of a Community with Reference to the Selected Anthropological Concepts The issue of values occupies an extremely important place in the education theory. In the reference books, one can encounter viewpoints opting for such a construction of education process as to include the universal canon of values. Nevertheless, difficulties emerge when the above mentioned canon has to be arranged and agreed upon.In the present article, the author is in favour of the thesis that the accepted axiology is dependent on the anthropology of education accepted before. This means that particular conceptions of a man have to be investigated closely and, only on the basis of that, axiological issues can be inferred. One particular aspect was deduced from this very broad scope of interest. It concerns to the description of community value created by a man with reference to different anthropological conceptions. Four anthropological conceptions were assumed: collectivist, individualistic, personalistic and genetic. Their analysis leads to us to believe which value is suitable in a community within a particular anthropology.The basic conclusions resulting from the research conducted are the following:      1.   Education, assuming that the entirety of the process refers to both personalization and socialization, should be based on the collectivist or personalistic anthropology.      2.   Taking the assumptions of the collectivist and personalistic anthropology into account, the value of a community must be enhanced with other values which would strengthen its structural integrity.      3.   The collectivist anthropology runs the risk of redefining community, with an individual being undervalued at the same time.      4.   The closer a model or a system of education gets to the individualistic anthropology in its assumptions, the harder it becomes to justify the educational value of a community.      5.   According to the assumptions of the individualistic anthropology, the value of a community only comes down to creating circumstances, owing to which genuine values can ultimately be achieved.      6.   The suggestion of the personalistic anthropology, because of the element of self-devotion included, seems to be especially attractive to the youth, who join in volunteering in the greatest numbers.Such anthropological suggestions, which describe a man differently in the deterministic categories, undermine the legitimacy not only of educational value of a community, but also of education itself.
