  On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his death, the purpose of this article is to briefly present the life and scientific work of Fr. Antoni Kurek OMI, the doyen of Polish Oblate missionologists. He is, along with two outstanding verbist missionologists Fr. Feliks Zapata and Fr. Władysław Kowalak, the pioneer in Poland of this theological sub-discipline, developed in the academic center of Warsaw (ATK/UKSW). In the context of his family religious and regional heritage, as well as his years of Oblate life and ministry, the author of the article recalls the achievements of Fr. Kurek’s scientific and didactic work. He points to African sources as the center of research interests of the professor of missiology at ATK/UKSW and indicates the wide field of scientific and didactic work.;
  Celem artykułu jest zwięzłe przedstawienie życia i naukowej twórczości o. Antoniego Kurka OMI, nestora polskich oblatów–misjologów, z okazji dziesiątej rocznicy jego śmierci. Obok dwóch wybitnych misjologów werbistów, o. Feliksa Zapłaty i o. Władysława Kowalaka był on w Polsce pionierem tej subdyscypliny teologicznej, rozwijanej w akademickim ośrodku warszawskim (ATK/UKSW]). W kontekście rodzinnego dziedzictwa religijnego i regionalnego oraz lat życia i posługi oblackiej autor artykułu przywołuje dokonania pracy naukowo-dydaktycznej o. A. Kurka. Wskazuje na afrykańskie źródła jako centrum badawczych zainteresowań profesora misjologii ATK/UKSW oraz na szerokie pole pracy naukowo-dydaktycznej.
