This review article is a reflection on the book by Andrzej Bogusławski entitled Podstawy kontrastywnej lingwistyki przekładowej, in which an attempt was made at determining the research object and scope of translation linguistics. On the one hand, the authors discuss the book itself; on the other hand, they refer concepts and ideas, presented in the book, to translation, thus showing basic differences. For example, the translation principles propounded by Bogusławski combined with his emphasis on the fact that the objects of research are not specific texts but components of natural linguistic codes made the readers realize that this perspective is linguistics-oriented, and not translation-oriented. Therefore translation, i.e., a given and specific text, is a constitutive element of this discipline.;
Przedmiotem artykułu recenzyjnego jest refleksja nad książką Andrzeja Bogusławskiego Podstawy kontrastywnej lingwistyki przekładowej, w której podjęto próbę określenia przedmiotu i zakresu badawczego lingwistyki przekładowej. Autorzy z jednej strony omawiają dość szczegółowo treść książki, z drugiej zaś odnoszą zaprezentowaną w książce koncepcję do przekładoznawstwa, wykazując podstawowe różnice. Dla przykładu zaproponowane przez autora reguły przekładowe i podkreślanie faktu, iż przedmiotem badania nie mają być konkretne teksty, ale komponenty kodów naturalnojęzykowych, uświadamia, że mamy do czynienia z optyką językoznawczą, a nie przekładoznawczą, gdzie przekład, zatem konkretny tekst, jest elementem konstytutywnym dyscypliny
