  The problem of reinterpreting Holodomor in contemporary cultural texts is one of the most important aspects in post-totalitarian memory discourse in Ukraine. The researcher’s attention is paid to the process of a modern rereading of the trauma of the Famine in the Soviet Ukraine during 1932–1933. This is understood as an absolutely essential aspect for forming individual and collective identity. The author analyzes the modern generation’s search for authentic language to verbalize their ancestors’ experience. This language helps them realize their own self-presentations against the background of history and modernity. This article is mainly devoted to the literary interpretation of the Holodomor based on the theory of post-memory and focuses on the novel The Memory Keeper of Kyiv by Erin Litteken, an American writer with Ukrainian heritage.;
  Podejmowana w artykule problematyka Wielkiego Głodu we współczesnej reinterpretacji tekstów kultury jest jednym z zasadniczych aspektów w dyskursie posttotalitarnej pamięci narodowej współczesnej Ukrainy. Pod uwagę wzięto reinterpretację traumy jako ważnej zasady w odzyskaniu przez jednostkę oraz społeczność prawdziwej tożsamości. Autorka artykułu skupia się na tym, jak współczesne generacje aktywnie poszukują prawdziwego języka do werbalizacji przeżyć ich przodków, tym samym umożliwiając własne samookreślenia na tle historii i współczesności. Pod uwagę wzięto głównie literacką interpretację traumy Wielkiego Głodu w świetle teorii postpamięci.
