  Rechtsräume in der Stadt. Beobachtungen zur Entstehung präurbaner Topographien Der Beitrag versucht die Stadtentstehung und ihre räumlichen Bezüge darzustellen. Obwohl es Stadtrechte im eigentlichen Sinne erst seit dem Hochmittelalter (ca. 1050 bis 1250) im deutschen Reich nördlich der Alpen gibt, spielt das Recht dabei eine zentrale Rolle. Diesem voraus gingen die verschiedenen Ordnungsvorstellungen, sei es im kirchlichen (Bischofs- beziehungsweise Stiftsstädte) oder im weltlichen (Königshöfe und -pfalzen) Kontext. Im weiteren Verlauf der Stadtentwicklung kamen neue Rechtsbezirke und Ordnungsmuster hinzu, zum Beispiel der Handwerker und Kaufleute, der jüdischen Gemeinde, der Bruderschaften sowie Immunitätsbezirke  (immunitas localis). Um eine typisierende Methode zu entwickeln, werden in diesem Artikel Städte und Plätze kategorisiert und die Bezüge der Frage nach den Rechtsräumen in Städten zur aktuellen Stadtgeschichtsforschung hergestellt.;
  The Legal Space in the Town: Remarks about the Creation of Early Urban Topography The article is an attempt to present the process of the creation of towns and their spatial solutions. Despite the fact the city rights in their appropriate understanding did not appear in the Reich in the north of the Alps until the Middle Ages (ca. 1050–1250), law played a major role in those processes. It was preceded by various images of order both in the religious context (bishop’s towns and towns set up near churches, chapters or monasteries) and in the secular terms (residences of kings). With time new legal areas and patterns of law and order appeared, for example among craftsmen, merchants, Jewish communities, fraternities or in the territories of immunitas localis. In this article the author categorized towns and sites in order to develop the method of typification. In the context of questions about the legal space in towns, the author refers to the current research on the history of towns.;
  Przestrzeń prawna w mieście. Spostrzeżenia odnośnie powstania topografii wczesnomiejskiej Artykuł jest próbą przedstawienia procesu powstawania miast oraz ich rozwiązań przestrzennych. Pomimo, że prawa miejskie we właściwym rozumieniu pojawiają się na terenie Rzeszy niemieckiej na północ od Alp dopiero od pełnego średniowiecza (ok. 1050–1250), prawo odgrywa w tych procesach centralną rolę. Poprzedzają je różne wyobrażenia porządku, zarówno w kontekście kościelnym (miasta biskupie oraz powstałe przy kościelnych centrach, np. kapitułach, klasztorach), jak i świeckim (siedziby królewskie). W dalszym przebiegu procesu rozwoju miast dochodzą nowe obszary prawne i wzory porządku, na przykład rzemieślników i kupców, gminy żydowskiej, bractw czy tereny objęte immunitetem (immunitas localis). W niniejszym artykule w celu rozwoju metody typizacji skategoryzowano miasta i miejsca. W kontekście pytań o przestrzeń prawną w miastach nawiązano do aktualnych badań nad historią miast.
