  On the basis of Children’s and Household Tales by Jakub and Wilhelm Grimm, translated by Eliza Pieciul-Karmińska, a folklore analysis was carried out in search of magic treesappearing in these narratives. None of the trees presented in this collection were objects of worship, but represented specific beliefs related to its appropriate treatment or magicalfeatures. Two groups of trees can be distinguished from the collected material: mediating and miraculous. In the first group, various species of plants appeared, according to folkbeliefs they connected reality with the underworld, the supersensory world, or had a connection with the devil. The souls of prematurely deceased people were enchanted in trees, but also living people were turned into them. In the second group of miracle trees there was a talking apple tree, a birch that was the home of a golden bird, a golden-silver tree that had grown from the guts of the magic helper. The analyzed examples represent specific meanings they have in a complex system of folk symbols and stereotypes.;
  Na podstawie Baśni dla dzieci i dla domu Jakuba i Wilhelma Grimmów w przekładzie Elizy Pieciul-Karmińskiej dokonano analizy folklorystycznej w poszukiwaniu magicznych drzew pojawiających się w tych narracjach. Żadne z drzew prezentowanych w tym zbiorze nie było przedmiotem kultu, ale reprezentowały one określone wierzenia związane z ich odpowiednim traktowaniem lub cechami magicznymi. W zebranym materiale można wyróżnić dwie grupy drzew: pośredniczące i cudowne. W pierwszej grupie pojawiły się różne gatunki roślin, zgodnie z wierzeniami ludowymi, które łączyły rzeczywistość ze światem podziemnym, światem nadzmysłowym lub miały związek z diabłem. W drzewach zaklęte były dusze przedwcześnie zmarłych ludzi, ale też zamieniano w nie osoby żyjące. W drugiej grupie cudownych drzew znajdowała się mówiąca jabłoń, brzoza, która była domem złotego ptaka, złoto-srebrne drzewo, które wyrosło z wnętrzności magicznego pomocnika. Analizowane przykłady pokazują, jakie znaczenia, jakie miały drzewa w złożonym systemie ludowych symboli i stereotypów.
