  It should be noted, that a human is a religious being. However, homo religiosus is not explicitly synonymous to homo novus, just as it is impossible to identify the religious spirituality with the Christian spirituality. A human becomes novus through the contact with Christ. Examples of such an attainment of resemblance to Christ are to be found in missionary countries, such as Papua New Guinea. The study shows the role of the Bikman - the leader of a clan - as a homo novus that encourages the community to adopt the lifestyle of Christ. The author of the article presents the Bikman's significant roles and evangelization tasks towards the community entrusted to his care.;
  Człowiek jest z natury osobą religijna. Ma potrzebę transcendencji. Jednakże nie zawsze człowiek religijny jest tożsamy z chrześcijaninem. Nie można również utożsamiać duchowości religijnej z duchowością chrześcijańską. Człowiek religijny staje się nowym człowiekiem poprzez spotkanie z Chrystusem. Duchowość chrześcijańska to forma relacji z Bogiem osobowym objawionym w Jezusie Chrystusie. Przykładem uchrystusowienia są misje prowadzone w Papui Nowej Gwinei. Tam postać Bikmana przywódcy klanu, może dokonać chrystoformizacji i przyjmując Chrystusa przeszczepić duchowość chrześcijańską jako formę życia wspólnoty, której jest liderem.
