  The article presents the views of Polish émigré politicians, publicists, historians, and military officers on the strategic position of the Middle East region in the face of the outbreak of the Third World War between 1945 and 1956. The author shows the evolution of the position of “Polish London” in the subsequent years of the Cold War, determined by the growing political tensions between the USA and the USSR and their allies. He concludes that the Middle East was an important area for Polish political émigrés in London, where a global military confrontation could occur between the two warring political blocs.;
  Artykuł przedstawia poglądy polskich emigracyjnych polityków, publicystów, historyków i wojskowych, dotyczące położenia strategicznego regionu Bliskiego Wschodu w obliczu wybuchu III wojny światowej w latach 1945–1956. Autor ukazuje ewolucję stanowiska „polskiego Londynu” w kolejnych latach zimnej wojny, determinowaną rosnącymi napięciami politycznymi między USA oraz ZSRR i ich sojusznikami. Wysuwa wniosek, że obszar bliskowschodni stanowił dla polskiej emigracji politycznej w Londynie istotne terytorium, gdzie może dojść do globalnej konfrontacji wojskowej między oboma zwalczającymi się blokami politycznymi.
