  At present, there are cultural tendencies that try to limit the understanding of man to his physical dimension. This is not to promote the concept of materialistic, but an attempt to give human corporeality spiritual qualities. The most perceptible expression of this concept is the widespread creation of a healthy, young and fit man, with contempt for what is weak, sick or old. Then the reflection on man ceases to be a search for the truth about him, but the creation of an unreal, ideal image. It has consequences in the promotion of the myth of immortality as a result of hedonism, secularism and the contestation of classical (including Christian) concepts of human being. The cult of the ideal body combined with the erasure of the thoughts of death give rise to a joyful and stress-free focus on the immediate, effortless questioning about the purpose and meaning of existence, moral choices, and responsibility or values.;
  Obecnie dostrzec można tendencje kulturowe, usiłujące ograniczyć rozumienie człowieka do jego wymiaru cielesnego.  Nie oznacza to jednak promocji koncepcji materialistycznej, lecz usiłowanie nadania ludzkiej cielesności cech duchowych. Jej najbardziej dostrzegalnym wyrazem jest powszechne kreowanie obrazu człowieka zdrowego, młodego i sprawnego, z jednoczesną pogardą dla tego co słabe, chore czy stare. Wtedy refleksja nad człowiekiem przestaje być szukaniem prawdy o nim, lecz kreacją nierzeczywistego, idealnego obrazu. Ma to konsekwencje w promocji mitu o nieśmiertelności, będącego wypadkową hedonizmu, sekularyzmu i kontestacji klasycznych (w tym chrześcijańskich) ujęć człowieka. Kult ciała idealnego w połączeniu z wymazaniem myśli o śmierci rodzą postawę  radosnego i bezstresowego skupienia na doraźności, bez wysiłku stawiania pytań o cel i sens egzystencji, wybory moralne, odpowiedzialność czy wartości.
