  St. Josemaría always had a devotion to the holy angels, based not only on his personal experience but above all on Scripture, on the Fathers and on theology that runs through the centuries, both in the East and in the West. The Angelic Doctor, an undisputable authority on this subject, created a synthesis of knowledge on angels. St. Josemaría also proposed a closeness and familiarity that led us to our Creator. The presence of angels infused him with the presence of God, and that is why he always considered the guardian angel a “great accomplice”. St. Josemaría believed that the most prominent function of the angels is intimately linked to the liturgical celebration and, in a special way, to the Eucharist which he wanted to see as always surrounded by adoring angels.;
  San Josemaría tuvo siempre una devoción a los santos ángeles, fundamentada no solo en su experiencia personal sino sobre todo en la Escritura, en los Padres y en una teología que recorre los siglos, tanto en Oriente como en Occidente. El Doctor Angélico constituye una síntesis y una autoridad en el tema. También san Josemaría proponía una cercanía y una familiaridad que nos conducía a su Creador. La presencia de ángeles le infundía presencia de Dios, y por eso consideró siempre un “gran cómplice” al ángel de la guarda. Pero la función más excelsa de los ángeles está íntimamente unida a la celebración litúrgica y, de un modo especial, a la Eucaristía. San Josemaría quería verla siempre rodeada de ángeles adorando.;

Święci aniołowie u Tomasza z Akwinu i Josemaríi Escrivy Świętego Josemaríę zawsze cechowało głębokie nabożeństwo do aniołów oparte nie tylko na osobistym doświadczeniu, ale przede wszystkim na Piśmie Świętym, Ojcach Kościoła oraz teologii, zarówno Wschodu, jak i Zachodu. Anielski Doktor, będący autorytetem w tej dziedzinie, stworzył syntezę wiedzy o aniołach. Św. Josemaría także wskazywał na bliskość i zażyłość z aniołami, która prowadzi nas do Stwórcy. Obecność aniołów przepełniała go obecnością Boga i dlatego nazywał Anioła Stróża „wielkim wspólnikiem”. Św. Josemaría uważał, że najbardziej znaczącą funkcją aniołów jest ich zażyła łączność z liturgią, a w szczególny sposób z Eucharystią, którą zawsze postrzegał jako otoczoną adorującymi aniołami.
