  This article discusses issues related to ankyloglossia in the context of the /r/ phoneme. Based on the results of her own studies, the investigator identifies and discusses non‑standard features of the /r/ phoneme which results from the shortened frenulum. Comparing her own results to the analyses of other researchers, the author notices a certain similarity, namely that the quivering phoneme is one of the most frequently incorrectly articulated sounds in the Polish language. Moreover, the article thoroughly discusses the articulatory structure of the [r] sound, emphasising its complex architecture which requires the patient to raise the tongue and vibrate it at the same time. The researcher points out the need for correct diagnosis in the context of the articulation of the quivering phoneme, and in particular the issue of ankyloglossia. One of the possible causes of faulty articulation of the sound in question is the shortening of the tongue frenulum. The research proves that the shorter the frenulum, the greater the risk of articulation abnormalities, such as too low and/or off‑center positioning of the tongue, or vibration disorders. The author pays special attention to taking into account other factors causing articulation defects. A holistic approach significantly increases the chances of making a correct diagnosis and planning adecuate speech therapy.;
  W artykule omówiono zagadnienia dotyczące ankyloglosji w kontekście realizacji fonemu /r/. Opierając się na wynikach badań własnych, badaczka wskazuje i omawia nienormatywne cechy fonemu drżącego, wynikające ze skróconego wędzidełka języka. Porównując własne wyniki do analiz innych badaczy, autorka zauważa pewną zbieżność, a mianowicie, że fonem drżący stanowi jedną z najczęściej nieprawidłowo artykułowanych głosek języka polskiego. Ponadto omawia w artykule dokładną budowę artykulacyjną głoski [r] jednocześnie podkreślając jej skomplikowaną architekturę, która wymaga od pacjenta jednoczesnego wzniesienia języka oraz wibracji. Badaczka wskazuje na konieczność prawidłowej diagnozy w kontekście artykulacji fonemu drżącego, a w szczególności na zagadnienie dotyczące ankyloglosji. Jako jedną z możliwych przyczyn wadliwej artykulacji tytułowej głoski wskazuje na skrócenie wędzidełka języka. Przedstawione badania dowodzą, że im krótsze wędzidełko, tym bardziej zwiększa się ryzyko wystąpienia nieprawidłowości artykulacyjnych, takich jak np. zbyt niskie i/lub niepośrodkowe ułożenie języka czy też zaburzenia wibracji. Autorka zwraca szczególną uwagę na uwzględnienie również innych czynników powodujących wady artykulacyjne. Holistyczne podejście znacznie zwiększa szanse na postawienie prawidłowej diagnozy oraz zaplanowanie terapii logopedycznej.
