The starting point for discussion were the documents of the Roman Curia, especially the Holy See Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews, acting within the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, one of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia, which take up the issue of interreligious dialogue, primarily Catholic-Jewish dialogue. The article presents the political aspects, which can include, inter alia, forms of interreligious dialogue, cooperation of followers of the two religions for justice and peace, opposition to anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination. The article refers to the documents of Vatican II (1962–1965), in particular the Declaration on the Relation of the Church to NonChristian Religions Nostra Aetate, which was an important turning point in the history of Catholic-Jewish relations.;
Punktem wyjścia do rozważań były dokumenty Kurii Rzymskiej, zwłaszcza Komisji Stolicy Apostolskiej do Spraw Stosunków Religijnych z Judaizmem, działającej w ramach Papieskiej Rady ds. Popierania Jedności Chrześcijan, które podejmują problematykę dialogu międzyreligijnego, przede wszystkim dialogu katolicko-żydowskiego. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano ich polityczne aspekty, do których możemy zaliczyć m.in.: formy dialogu międzyreligijnego, współpraca wyznawców obu religii na rzecz sprawiedliwości i pokoju, przeciwstawianie się antysemityzmowi i wszelkim formom dyskryminacji. Na- wiązano do dokumentów Soboru Watykańskiego II (1962–1965), zwłaszcza do Deklaracji o stosunku Kościoła do religii niechrześcijańskich Nostra aetate, która stanowiła istotny zwrot w historii stosunków katolicko-żydowskich
