  The considerations presented below are part of the discussion on research and studies of perestroika in the USSR based on the analysis of Alicja Stępień-Kuczyńska’s works. The article attempts to verify the interpretation schemes functioning in the literature on the subject. It also offers some guidelines concerning directions of reflection on the last period of the history of this state by extending the historical source base, including, among other things, Russian archival resources or analysis of political and economic thought.;
  Niniejsze rozważania stanowią głos w dyskusji o stanie polskich badań nad pieriestrojką w ZSRR na podstawie analizy prac Alicji Stępień-Kuczyńskiej. W artykule podjęto próbę weryfikacji funkcjonujących w nauce schematów interpretacyjnych, a także zawarto wskazówki co do ewentualnych kierunków refleksji nad schyłkowym okresem dziejów tego państwa poprzez poszerzenie bazy źródłowej, m.in. wykorzystanie rosyjskich zasobów archiwalnych oraz analizę myśli politycznej i ekonomicznej.
