  The aim of the article is to present the basic symptoms of depression in the context of the sacrament of penance and reconciliation and to provide pastoral recommendations for confessors towards people affected by this disease. The specific nature of depressive disorder requires a special approach to penitents suffering from its symptoms. Thanks to this, the sacrament of penance and reconciliation can be experienced as an experience of God's mercy and, in addition, it can also have secondary therapeutic effects. The text describes the way of understanding and experiencing the sacrament of penance and reconciliation by people suffering from depression, and in the last part it presents recommendations for those serving such penitents. They are suitable both for those receiving the sacrament of penance and reconciliation in the form of ongoing pastoral support, as well as a single meeting in the confessional.;
  Celem artykułu jest prezentacja podstawowych objawów depresji w kontekście sakramentu pokuty i pojednania oraz podanie zaleceń duszpasterskich dla spowiedników wobec osób dotkniętych tym schorzeniem. Specyfika zaburzenia depresyjnego wymaga specjalnego podejścia spowiednika do obciążonego tym problemem penitenta. Dzięki temu sakrament pokuty i pojednania może być przeżywany jako doświadczenie Bożego miłosierdzia, a oprócz tego może mieć również drugorzędne skutki terapeutyczne. Tekst opisuje sposób rozumienia oraz przeżywania sakramentu pokuty i pojednania przez osoby chorujące na depresję, a w dalszej części prezentuje wskazania dla pełniących posługę wobec takich penitentów. Są one odpowiednie zarówno dla korzystających z sakramentu pokuty i pojednania w formie stałego wsparcia duszpasterskiego, jak i pojedynczego spotkania w konfesjonale.
