  Studies on the histology and certain aspects of histochemistry of the flank gland of the Indian musk shrew, Suncus murinus viridescens have been conducted. This gland is mainly comprised of: a) sebaceous glands which constitute the bulk and b) comparatively few sudoriferous glands located at the periphery. Przeprowadzono badania histologiczne i w pewnych aspektach histochemiczne gruczołów bocznych (Tabela 1). Gruczoły te składają się głównie z: a) gruczołów łojowych, tworzących przeważającą część (Ryc. 1-3) i b) stosunkowo niewielu gruczołów potowych, zlokalizowanych peryferyjnie (Ryc. 4).;
