  Celem opracowania jest ponowne spojrzenie na główne założenia europejskiej i polskiej polityki zagranicznej w powersalskiej Europie. Analizując wybrane pakty i układy, głównie z polskiej perspektywy, autor odpowiada na pytanie, dlaczego po dwudziestu latach od podpisania pokoju w Paryżu w 1919 r. nie udało się zapobiec kolejnemu konfliktowi o zasięgu światowym.
