  The aim of this article is to provide a preliminary reconstruction of Tomáš Halík’s thoughts on hope with the intention of using them in pedagogical work to assist human beings in building and developing hope. The analyses focus on hope “for all”, regardless of religiosity or lack of it. This is related to the pedagogical nature of the text, as well as to Halík’s approach, who considered the issue of the hope of non-believers to be of particular interest. The text identifies approaches to understanding hope and, by referring to the research findings of a number of authors, argues for its subjective and social significance. Its dynamic character is also shown, which allows it to be treated as “learned”. The choice of Tomáš Halík as a teacher of hope was also justified, showing on the one hand a broad understanding of who a teacher is taking into account three perspectives: interactional, institutional and cultural. On the other hand, several facts from Tomáš Halík’s life are recalled that allow us to consider him as a witness and therefore also as a teacher of hope. Halík’s thoughts on hope were then indicated, relating them to pedagogical practice and the teaching of hope.;
  Celem artykułu jest wstępna rekonstrukcja myśli Tomáša Halíka o nadziei z intencją wykorzystania jej przez nauczycieli, katechetów oraz wychowawców (instytucjonalnych i pozainstytucjonalnych), aby wspomagać człowieka w budowaniu nadziei. Analizy koncentrują się na nadziei „dla wszystkich”, niezależnie od religijności czy też jej braku. Jest to związane z pedagogicznym charakterem tekstu, a także z podejściem Halíka, który za szczególnie interesujące uznawał zagadnienie nadziei niewierzących. W tekście wskazano podejścia do rozumienia nadziei oraz – odnosząc się do wyników badań wielu autorów – uargumentowano jej podmiotowe i społeczne znaczenie. Ukazano również jej dynamiczny charakter, co pozwala traktować ją jako „wyuczalną”. Uzasadniono także wybór Tomáša Halíka jako nauczyciela nadziei, pokazując z jednej strony szerokie rozumienie tego, kim jest nauczyciel, uwzględniając trzy perspektywy: interakcyjną, instytucjonalną i kulturową. Z drugiej strony przywołano kilka faktów z życia Tomáša Halíka, które pozwalają traktować go jako świadka, a więc i nauczyciela nadziei. Następnie wskazano myśli Halíka o nadziei, odnosząc je do praktyki pedagogicznej i uczenia nadziei.
