The article presents Warsaw booksellers’ and publishers’ activity on Toruń’s book market. They advertised their offer in Toruń’s local periodicals, mainly in “Thornische Wöchentliche Nachrichten und Anzeigen”. Their activity was noticeable especially in the 60s and 70s of the 18th century, a period of increased cultural prosperity in the town. Several notable Warsaw booksellers such as Wawrzyniec Mitzler de Kolof, Jan August Poser and Michał Gröll offered their books in Toruń. What is interesting, their offer covered mostly books in Polish, some of them being translations from French, and also books in French and English, with fewer publications in German and Latin. The books were mainly works of contemporary writers, however new editions of earlier works were also to be found. The book selection was varied and included such subjects as history, medicine, law, philosophy, but also fiction. This interesting offer was a valuable addition to the regular book assortment in Toruń.;
W artykule zostały przedstawione kontakty warszawskich księgarzy i wydawców z toruńskim rynkiem książki. O swojej ofercie informowali oni torunian za pośrednictwem miejscowych czasopism, w tym przede wszystkich „Thornische Wöchentliche Nachrichten und Anzeigen”. Ich kontakty z Toruniem przypadły na lata 60. i 70. XVIII w., na okres ożywienia kulturalnego w mieście. Swe książki w Toruniu oferowali: Wawrzyniec Mitzler de Kolof, Jan August Poser i Michał Gröll. W ich propozycjach zwraca uwagę przede wszystkim duża liczba książek polskojęzycznych, często przekładów z języka francuskiego oraz dzieła publikowane w języku francuskim i angielskim, w mniejszym stopniu niemieckim i po łacinie. Były to głównie książki współczesnych twórców, choć nie brakło też nowych edycji autorów żyjących w poprzednich stuleciach. Wśród książek przedstawionych toruńskim czytelnikom znalazły się publikacje o bardzo różnej treści: dzieła historyczne, medyczne, z zakresu prawa i filozofii oraz literatura piękna. Była to ciekawa oferta, stanowiąca uzupełnienie asortymentu księgarskiego miejscowych sprzedawców książek.
