The author tries to discover the timeless features of the secular model of sanctity in the hagiographies of Edmund Bojanowski, Czesław Jóźwiak, Franciszek Kęsy, Edward Kaźmierski, Jarogniew Wojciechowski, Edward Klinik and Natalia Tułasiewiczówna. The article shows ineach of the seven biographies the path of gradual maturation in faith embedded in the historical context of events crucial for Poland. A common feature of all the characters is their strong commitment to the cause of education and patriotism based on a solid religious and moral foundation.;
