  The primary purpose of this article was to initiate an analysis of the founding myths of the Polish state – their existence and reproduction in the community – in the context of both memetics theory and virtual sites of memory. The research field, broadly outlined by theoretical considerations, was significantly limited in the presented text. Thus, only selected accounts on the Facebook social network were analyzed (within the specified time range) – on the one hand, those representing public institutions dealing with commemoration, and on the other, those private ones, for which one of the purposes is to conduct narratives of memory.;
  Podstawowe założenie niniejszego artykułu stanowiło zainicjowanie analizy mitów założycielskich państwa polskiego – ich istnienia i powielania we wspólnocie – w kontekście zarówno teorii memetyki, jak i wirtualnych miejsc pamięci. Pole badawcze, szeroko zarysowane rozważaniami teoretycznymi, zostało w prezentowanym tekście znacząco ograniczone. W ten sposób przeanalizowano (w wyznaczonym zakresie czasowym) jedynie wybrane konta na portalu społecznościowym Facebook – z jednej strony te reprezentujące instytucje publiczne zajmujące się upamiętnianiem, z drugiej – te prywatne, których jednym z celów jest prowadzenie narracji pamięci.
