The text edits and critically discusses previously unpublished correspondence conducted in 1943 between Rudolf Höss, commandant of the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, and Fritz Bracht, a gauleiter of Upper Silesia. The camp, located in the Upper Silesian province, played an important role in Bracht’s local, national, and economic policies. For this reason, the gauleiter sought to maintain close cooperation and cordial contact with the camp authorities.;
Tekst zawiera edycję i krytyczne omówienie niepublikowanej dotąd korespondencji prowadzonej w 1943 r. między Rudolfem Hössem, komendantem niemieckiego nazistowskiego obozu koncentracyjnego i zagłady Auschwitz-Birkenau, i gauleiterem Górnego Śląska Fritzem Brachtem. Obóz położony na terenie okręgu górnośląskiego odgrywał istotną rolę w lokalnej polityce narodowościowej i gospodarczej Brachta. Z tego względu gauleiter dążył do zachowania ścisłej współpracy i serdecznych kontaktów z władzami obozu.
