The study is an attempt at summarizing newer research on the left bank princely and imperial seat in Wrocław on the basis of source queries and the results of archaeological and architectural studies from the years 1999-2005. It comprehensively discusses medieval and early modern construction phases which were distinguished during excavations. It also draws attention to the relationships of the castle with the early-urban settlement which was formed on the left bank of the Oder as well as its oldest defensive systems.;
Praca stanowi próbę podsumowania nowszych studiów nad lewobrzeżną siedzibą książęcą i cesarską we Wrocławiu, w oparciu o kwerendy źródłowe oraz wyniki badań archeologiczno-architektonicznych z lat 1999-2005. Kompleksowo omawia średniowieczne i wczesnonowożytne fazy budowlane wyróżnione w trakcie prac wykopaliskowych. Zwraca również uwagę na związki zamku z organizmem wczesnomiejskim formującym się na lewym brzegu Odry oraz jego najstarszymi systemami obronnymi.
