  36% of Polish entrepreneurship consists of family businesses, which create 10% of Polish GDP. 60% of them plan succession. It is a very dynamically developing type of entrepreneurship, which, due to the nature of the activity, has completely different characteristics than non-family companies. Family businesses operate in a dynamic and competitive market. Increasing competition, barriers coming from the environment and strong competition from international companies that have more resources and specialists to compete for customers are all forcing small and medium-sized companies to seek new means to fight for customers and to survive on the market. The aim of this paper is to show how family businesses can effectively use strategic analysis when planning strategic goals. The second part of the paper is of practical nature, and studies the level of effectiveness of strategy implementation, approaches to developing a strategy.;
  Polska przedsiębiorczość składa się w 36% z firm rodzinnych, które tworzą 10% polskiego PKB a 60% z nich planuje sukcesję. Firmy rodzinne funkcjonują na dynamicznym i konkurencyjnym rynku. Narastająca konkurencja, bariery płynące z otoczenia zmuszają małe i średnie firmy rodzinne do poszukiwania nowych środków do walki o klienta i przetrwania na rynku. Celem niniejszej pracy jest pokazanie jak firmy rodzinne mogą efektywnie wykorzystać analizę strategiczną  podczas planowania celów strategicznych oraz zbadano poziom realizacji strategii w firmach rodzinnych.
