Description:
In the Kingdom of Poland, between 1890 and 1914, war panic occurred on a regular basis every few years. Fear of the outbreak of war between Russia on the one side and Germany and Austro-Hungary on the other was fueled, among others, by changes in the dislocation of Russian troops, personnel changes in the Warsaw military district, military maneuvers, the calling up of reservists for training, circulating rumors and last but not least by international crises. The Kingdom of Poland was the westernmost Russian province, surrounded on three sides by potential enemies, Germany and Austro-Hungary. In the event of a European war, it would be a battleground from the first hours, endangering its inhabitants and their property. Inhabitants of this province, especially during the revolutionary period of 1905–1907, were also afraid of military intervention of Prussian troops, with the aim of crushing the Polish national movement and prevention of restauration of autonomy status of Kingdom of Poland within a Russian empire.;
W Królestwie Polskim w okresie 1890–1914 regularnie co kilka lat dochodziło do wzrostu obaw o możliwość wybuchu wojny między Rosją z jednej strony a Niemcami i Austro-Węgrami z drugiej. Nastroje te wywoływały m.in. zmiany w dyslokacji wojsk, przetasowania personalne w warszawskim okręgu wojskowym, manewry wojskowe, powoływanie rezerwistów na ćwiczenia, krążące plotki oraz kryzysy międzynarodowe. Królestwo Polskie było najbardziej na zachód wysuniętą prowincją rosyjską z trzech stron otoczoną przez potencjalnych wrogów, tj. Niemcy i Austro-Węgry. W przypadku wojny europejskiej od jej pierwszych godzin stanowiłoby teren walk, grożących życiu i mieniu jego mieszkańców. Mieszkańcy prowincji, zwłaszcza w okresie rewolucji lat 1905–1907, obawiali się pruskiej interwencji militarnej, która miałaby zapobiec przywróceniu autonomii Królestwa Polskiego w granicach rosyjskiego imperium.
