  The aim of this article is to compare the political strategy of the two left-wing parliamentary parties in Poland and the Czech Republic, i.e. SLD and KSČM after the transformation of the political system in the indicated countries. The work is an attempt to verify the chosen concept for the continued functioning of former communist activists in the system of parliamentary democracy and indicates possible opportunities and threats for both parties – not only on the basis of election results, but also program work and parliamentary activity.;
  Celem niniejszego artykułu jest porównanie strategii politycznej dwóch lewicowych partii parlamentarnych w Polsce oraz Republice Czeskiej, czyli SLD i KSČM po transformacji systemu politycznego we wskazanych państwach. Praca stanowi próbę weryfikacji obranej koncepcji na dalsze funkcjonowanie dawnych działaczy komunistycznych w systemie demokracji parlamentarnej oraz wskazuje na możliwe szanse i zagrożenia dla obu ugrupowań – nie tylko na podstawie wyników wyborczych, ale również prac programowych i aktywności parlamentarnej.
