  This article uses the biographical method to analyse a vital part of the Court of Appeals in Szczecin’s history, which existed from 1949–1951. An extensive archival investigation allows the reconstruction of the fate of lawyers who, after the Second World War – which was particularly tragic for this group, built a new justice system in the newly acquired territories. These biographies are treated holistically, presenting the entire professional journey and the complicated fate of individuals superimposed on the meanderings of a great history. In addition to this obvious context, the research presented addresses an issue rarely found in the literature – ideological influences on the general judiciary during Stalinism.;
  Artykuł stosując metodę biograficzną analizuje istotny fragment historii Sądu Apelacyjnego w Szczecinie istniejącego w latach 1949–1951. SStosując metodę biograficzną, autor artykułu analizuje istotny fragment historii Sądu Apelacyjnego w Szczecinie istniejącego w latach 1949–1951. Szeroka kwerenda archiwalna pozwala na odtworzenie losów prawników, którzy po tragicznej dla tej grupy drugiej wojnie światowej budowali nowy wymiar sprawiedliwości na nowo pozyskanych terenach. Biografie traktowane są tu całościowo, pokazując pełną drogę zawodową, skomplikowane losy jednostek nałożone na meandry wielkiej historii. Poza tym oczywistym kontekstem prezentowane badania dotyczą również zagadnienia rzadko występującego w literaturze – wpływów ideologicznych na sądownictwo powszechne w okresie stalinizmu.
