  Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie idei crowdsourcingu poprzez zdefiniowanie tego zjawiska i przedstawienie podstawowej typologii crowdsourcingu. W kolejnym kroku autor przedstawia w szczegółowy sposób rynki predykcyjne, które są praktycznym przykładem implementacji idei crowdsourcingu. Artykuł ma charakter opisowy i systematyzujący wiedzę o rynkach predykcyjnych.
