  The aim of the article is to analyze the philosophical reflections of Fr. Józef Tischner on the concept of solidarity. I present it as a key element of his vision of humanity. Tischner understands solidarity not as an abstract ideal but as a challenging commitment requiring courage, compassion, and openness to others. He emphasizes that inauthentic solidarity, when simplified or used instrumentally, can lead to abuse. The foundation of this concept is rooted in Tischner’s anthropology. According to Tischner, a human being is a relational entity, capable of transcending themselves through love, dialogue, and responsibility. Human freedom is tied to the obligation to make decisions in the spirit of solidarity with others, especially in the face of suffering. Using hermeneutics as a method of interpretation, I draw upon biblical parables that Tischner presented as metaphors of solidarity: Job – illustrates how solidarity manifests through presence and support in suffering, albeit often imperfectly. The Prodigal Son – demonstrates mercy and the readiness to accept others regardless of their mistakes. The Good Samaritan – serves as an example of active solidarity that transcends social and cultural divisions. In the conclusions, I emphasize that Tischner’s vision of solidarity is based on presence and empathy, which are the foundations of building community. It is a call to transcend selfishness, courageously engage in the lives of others, and responsibly act for the common good.;
  Celem artykułu jest analiza filozoficznej refleksji ks. Józefa Tischnera na temat solidarności. Przedstawiam ją jako kluczowy element jego wizji człowieka. Rozumie on solidarność nie jako abstrakcyjny ideał, lecz jako trudne do zrealizowania zobowiązanie wymagające odwagi, współczucia i otwartości na drugiego człowieka. Podkreśla, że nieautentyczna solidarność, uproszczona lub instrumentalnie wykorzystywana, może prowadzić do nadużyć. Jako fundament tej koncepcji przedstawiam Tischnerowską antropologię. Człowiek, według Tischnera, jest istotą relacyjną, zdolną do przekraczania siebie poprzez miłość, dialog i odpowiedzialność. Wolność człowieka wiąże się z obowiązkiem podejmowania decyzji w duchu solidarności z innymi, zwłaszcza w obliczu cierpienia. W artykule, posługując się hermeneutyką jako metodą interpretacji, przywołuję biblijne przypowieści, które Tischner przedstawiał jako metafory solidarności: Hiob – ilustruje, jak solidarność przejawia się w obecności i wsparciu w cierpieniu, choć często bywa niedoskonała. Syn marnotrawny – ukazuje miłosierdzie i gotowość do przyjęcia drugiego, niezależnie od jego błędów. Miłosierny Samarytanin – stanowi przykład aktywnej solidarności, przekraczającej społeczne i kulturowe podziały. We wnioskach podkreślam, że Tischnerowska wizja solidarności opiera się na obecności i współodczuwaniu, które są fundamentem budowania wspólnoty. Jest to wezwanie do przekraczania egoizmu, odważnego angażowania się w życie innych oraz odpowiedzialnego podejmowania działań na rzecz dobra wspólnego.
