The US attempted to support the modernisation of the Polish coal industry in return for political freedoms in Poland. The announcement of the European Recovery Program and its application and integration processes in the West and Cold War impacted the American view on the potential of the Polish coal industry.;
  W tekście ukazano amerykańskie zapatrywania na możliwości wykorzystania polskiego węgla dla odbudowy powojennej Europy. W USA wsparcie w modernizacji przemysłu węglowego wiązano ze swobodami politycznymi nad Wisłą. Amerykańskie spojrzenie na potencjał polskiego węgla dla Europy kształtowały m.in. objęcie Europy planem Marshalla, procesy integracyjne na Zachodzie i pogłębiający się konflikt zimnowojenny.
