  Diversity of national tax systems have a significant impact not only on the level and direction of international trade, but also on the flow of production factors. Basically, the differences are projecting also on business decisions on the location of economic activity. The height and extent of the tax burden may therefore hinder make optimal decisions regarding the commencement of investment and international cooperation in the country. Contemporary financial crisis and binding with it worsening financial situation of most economies, forced national government to take adaptation measures, including making changes in the applied fiscal policy. The main objective of this article is the comparison of selected tax in the context of the prevailing tax competition in the European Union (EU). It describes the extent of the changes in the post-crisis fiscal policy and the current structure of tax systems of the Union States.;
  Heterogeniczność krajowych systemów podatkowych wpływa nie tylko na poziom i kierunek wymiany międzynarodowej, lecz także na przepływ czynników produkcji. Zasadniczo, różnice te rzutują także na decyzje przedsiębiorców o lokalizacji działalności gospodarczej. Wysokość i zakres obciążeń podatkowych może zatem utrudniać podjęcie optymalnych decyzji dotyczących rozpoczęcia inwestycji i kooperacji międzynarodowej w danym kraju. Współczesny kryzys finansowy i wiążące się z nim pogorszenie sytuacji finansowej większości gospodarek, wymusiło na rządach krajowych podjęcie działań dostosowawczych, w tym m.in. dokonanie zmian w stosowanej polityce fiskalnej. Celem głównym artykułu jest komparacja wybranych podatków w kontekście panującej konkurencji podatkowej w krajach Unii Europejskiej (UE). Przedstawiono także zakres zmian pokryzysowych w polityce fiskalnej oraz obecną strukturę systemów podatkowych państw wspólnotowych.
