  This article investigates the concept of the city as a gallery, emphasizing the multifaceted role of public art in shaping urban space and catalyzing the development of the creative economy. Drawing on the theoretical foundations of the creative economy, the study explores how diverse artistic interventions – ranging from murals and installations to performances and site-specific projects – contribute to the growth of creative industries, support urban revitalization, enhance spatial quality, and reinforce the cultural identity of city districts. Through detailed case studies from Wrocław, combined with qualitative interviews conducted with artists, cultural managers, and representatives of public institutions, the research demonstrates that public art extends beyond aesthetic enhancement to generate significant social, cultural, and economic value. The findings highlight that public art initiatives frequently act as catalysts for grassroots creative activity, foster cross-sector collaboration, and attract diverse audiences, including tourists and investors. By conceptualizing public space as a participatory and symbolic arena for expression, the “city as a gallery” framework promotes social integration, intercultural dialogue, and community engagement, while simultaneously serving as an incubator for innovation and creative entrepreneurship. The article ultimately argues that embedding art within the urban fabric is a strategic approach to inclusive urban development, contributing to the resilience and sustainability of creative sectors and the broader socio-economic vitality of cities.;
  Sztuka w przestrzeni publicznej odgrywa coraz istotniejszą rolę nie tylko w kształtowaniu tożsamości kulturowej miast, lecz także jako impuls rozwoju gospodarki kreatywnej. Celem artykułu jest analiza wpływu działań artystycznych realizowanych w przestrzeni miejskiej na rozwój lokalnych podmiotów kreatywnych, przyciąganie inwestorów oraz aktywizację społeczności. W pracy przedstawiono teoretyczne ramy gospodarki kreatywnej oraz studia przypadków z Wrocławia, takie jak neonowe podwórko przy ul. Ruskiej 46, klub Vertigo i galeria Sztuka na Miejscu. Uzupełnieniem jest wywiad ekspercki z twórcami i organizatorami kultury, wskazujący na realny wpływ sztuki publicznej na rozwój miasta. Wyniki badań pozwalają sformułować rekomendacje dla miast, które chcą wykorzystać potencjał sztuki publicznej do wspierania innowacyjności, integracji społecznej oraz rozwoju gospodarki kreatywnej.
