  Commemoration and Representation in Artistic Commissions of Lutheran Noblewomen in Silesia. Three Examples from Years 1570–1620

  This article discusses three artistic commissions founded by Silesian noblewomen: the epitaph of Karol Krzysztof Podiebrad funded in the castle church at Oleśnica (1579) by Barbara von Žerotin née von Biberstein, the altar in St Jadwiga church at Gryfów Śląski (c. 1606) funded by Eleonora von Schaffgotsch née von Promnitz, and the pulpit in Michael Archangel church at Sława Śląska (1619), the foundation of Anna von Niebelschütz née von Rechenberg. The subjects of analysis are the iconographic and inscription programmes of these objects, particularly the visual forms of commemoration and state representation of their founders and their families.;
  Tematem rozważań tego artykułu są trzy luterańskie fundacje zlecone przez śląskie szlachcianki: ufundowane przez Barbarę von Žerotin ur. von Biberstein epitafium Karola Krzysztofa Podiebrada w kościele zamkowym w Oleśnicy (1579), ołtarz z kościoła św. Jadwigi w Gryfowie Śląskim (ok. 1606) z fundacji Eleonory von Schaffgotsch ur. von Promnitz oraz ambona w kościele św. Michała Archanioła w Sławie Śląskiej (1619), fundacja Anny von Niebelschütz ur. von Rechenberg. Przedmiotem analizy są programy ikonograficzno-inskrypcyjne tych obiektów, a w szczególności pojawiające się w nich wizualne formy komemoracji oraz sposoby reprezentacji jednostki i rodu.
