  The purpose of this article is to show one of the possible meanings of the term authority in the modern language of the humanities. The basis for this was a synthetic display of the variability of meanings of this term, and on the other – an attempt to analyze the structure of authority from the axiological perspective. This typologization was used as a particular methodological and logical procedure and was the basis for constructing a theoretical model of authority. As a result of the analysis, it was recognized that the basic values that generate the phenomenon of human authority are values such as wisdom, honesty, freedom and credibility ascribed and perceived as the virtues of persons recognized in the interpersonal relationships as the authority. The study that has been carried out allows us to assume that authority as a phenomenon is a multitheoretical category, to which can be attributed many qualities and properties, and its use also serves to aid the communication and cultural interpretation of one of the important humanistic factors in the recognition of behavior and interpersonal relationships. ;
  Celem artykułu jest ukazanie jednego z możliwych znaczeń terminu autorytet we współczesnym języku nauk o człowieku. Podstawą jego realizacji było syntetyczne pokazanie zmienności znaczeń tego pojęcia, zaś z drugiej – próba analizy struktury autorytetu w ujęciu aksjologicznym. Posłużono się typologizacją jako szczególnym zabiegiem metodologiczno-logicznym. Metoda ta była podstawą skonstruowania teoretycznego modelu autorytetu. W wyniku analizy uznano, że podstawowymi wartościami generującymi fenomen ludzkiego autorytetu są takie wartości, jak: mądrość, prawość, wolność i wiarygodność przypisywane oraz postrzegane jako cnoty osób uznawanych w relacjach interpersonalnych za autorytety. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwala przyjąć założenie mówiące, że autorytet jako fenomen jest kategorią teoriomnogościową, której można przypisać wiele cech i właściwości, a posługiwanie się nią służy komunikacyjno-kulturowej interpretacji jednego z ważnych współczynników humanistycznych mających wielorakie zastosowanie w poznawaniu zachowań i relacji międzyludzkich.
