  The modern notion of the national archival holdings of Ukraine (Nacìonalʹnij arhìvnij fond Ukraïni, NAFU) is the result of a terminological evolution. It began with the order introduced in the USSR by Lenin's archival decrees and the notion of the unified state archival holdings of the Ukrainian SSR (Êdinij deržavnij arhìvnij fond URSR). Following stages of this process were the concepts of the state archival holdings of the Ukrainian SSR (Deržavnij arhìvnij fond URSR), the state archival holdings of the USSR (Deržavnij arhìvnij fond SRSR) and the archival holdings of Ukraine (Arhìvnij fond Ukraïni). They functioned successively in Ukrainian archival science, and an analysis of the sources shows that Ukrainian archivists advocated the independence of their archival heritage from the central Soviet leadership. The term “national” has a fundamental meaning not only for the archival legislation of Ukraine but also for many other post-Soviet countries because it emphasizes their identity and the right to independently determine the archival heritage as the property of each nation. Therefore, NAFU is a complex information system consisting of archival materials reflecting the history of the spiritual and material life of the Ukrainian people, has cultural value, belongs to Ukrainians and Ukraine, and is an integral part of the world's archival heritage. In Polish historiography, Ukrainian archival reality presents limited texts, mainly the works of Ukrainian researchers published in Polish scientific journals (including “Archeion” and “Archiwista Polski”) and materials from scientific conferences. Therefore, the author analyzes in detail the essence and composition of the NAFU and touches on the problem of digitization as a tool for making archival materials available under the constraints of pandemic restrictions and the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine;
  Współczesne pojęcie narodowego zasobu archiwalnego Ukrainy (Nacìonalʹnij arhìvnij fond Ukraïni, NAFU) jest efektem ewolucji terminologicznej, której początek sięga porządku wprowadzonego w ZSRR leninowskimi dekretami archiwalnymi i pojęcia zjednoczonego państwowego zasobu archiwalnego Ukraińskiej SRR (Êdinij deržavnij arhìvnij fond URSR). Etapami tego procesu były funkcjonujące kolejno w ukraińskiej archiwistyce pojęcia państwowego zasobu archiwalnego Ukraińskiej SRR (Deržavnij arhìvnij fond URSR), państwowego zasobu archiwalnego ZSRR (Deržavnij arhìvnij fond SRSR) i zasobu archiwalnego Ukrainy (Arhìvnij fond Ukraïni). Analiza źródeł przekonuję, że archiwiści ukraińscy opowiadali się za niezależnością własnego dziedzictwa archiwalnego od centralnego kierownictwa radzieckiego. Termin „narodowy” ma fundamentalne znaczenie nie tylko dla ustawodawstwa archiwalnego Ukrainy, ale także dla wielu innych krajów postsowieckich, ponieważ podkreśla ich tożsamość, prawo do samodzielnego określania dziedzictwa archiwalnego jako własności każdego narodu. Dlatego NAFU jest rozumiany jako złożony system informacyjny, składający się z materiałów archiwalnych odzwierciedlających historię życia duchowego i materialnego narodu ukraińskiego, mających wartość kulturową, będących własnością Ukraińców i Ukrainy oraz integralną częścią światowego dziedzictwa archiwalnego. W polskiej historiografii problematyka ukraińskich spraw archiwalnych jest przedstawiana w dość ograniczony sposób, głównie przez prace badaczy ukraińskich publikowanych w czasopismach naukowych (m. in. „Archeion” oraz „Archiwista Polski”) oraz w tomach materiałów z konferencji naukowych. Dlatego autorka szczegółowo analizuje istotę i skład NAFU, porusza problem digitalizacji jako narzędzia umożliwiającego udostępniania archiwaliów w warunkach ograniczeń pandemicznych ograniczeń i wojny rozpętanej przez Rosję przeciwko Ukrainie.
