  The following text attempts to critically reflect on the tradition of using history for political purposes in the Soviet Union. Based on extensive research in the post-Stalinist press, it analyses the ways in which the theme of the history of Belarusian-Polish relations was emphasized. The focus was on one single motive – the motive of using the drawn image to justify the then geopolitical status quo, namely, Russia’s domination over Belarus.;
  Poniższy tekst stanowi próbę podjęcia krytycznej refleksji nad tradycją wykorzystania historii w celach politycznych w Związku Radzieckim. Na podstawie szeroko zakrojonej kwerendy prasy poststalinowskiej zanalizowano sposoby naświetlenia tematyki historii relacji białorusko-polskich. W centrum uwagi znalazł się wyłącznie jeden motyw – motyw wykorzystania wykreowanego obrazu w celach usprawiedliwienia ówczesnego geopolitycznego status quo w postaci podporządkowania Białorusi Rosji.
