The article discusses those Polish adverbs whose forms are based on the same pattern: na + verb + -ąco. The semantic analysis of such adverbs provides support for treating them as lexical items. The adverbs: stojąco ‘standing’, leżąco ‘lying’ siedząco ‘sitting’, do not occur without the component na, lit. ‘on’, in contrast to other adverbs derived from participles. The whole class of these forms contains only a few elements and it is not productive in contemporary Polish language. The discussed adverbs are semantically associated with the verbs: ktoś stoi, siedzi, leży ‘somebody is standing, sitting, lying’. However, the analysis of the occurrence of these units shows that the discussed lexemes include in their semantic structure elements of comparison. ;
